Expressions of the Journey Auction Held Thursday, October 26, 2006

DECATUR, Georgia - The first annual “Expressions of the Journey” Auction was held on Thursday, October 26 at The Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite in Decatur. The event was hosted by the DeKalb CSB Foundation, Inc., a private foundation, which has been developed to ensure that adequate resources, both financial and otherwise, are available to achieve the mission and vision of the DeKalb CSB. The event included a silent and live auction of items including art from local and national artists, overnight stays and a wide assortment of gift certificates from local restaurants, gift shops and other merchants.

Approximately 150 people were in attendance, including event sponsors, DeKalb CSB employees, board members, consumers, family members, advocates and other community organizations. The major sponsors of the event included: Platinum Sponsor, Janssen Pharmaceutica, Inc.; Gold Sponsor, AstraZeneca; Silver Sponsor, Foster’s Wine Estates Americas; Bronze Sponsor, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. The gross revenues earned exceed $18K and the net revenue is approximately $14.8K which will go toward funding wish tree supplies and equipment that were identified by programs prior to the event, and funding for subsequent fundraising events.
