DeKalb Community Service Board Receives a $20,000 Grant From
the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia
DECATUR, Georgia - The DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) receives
a $20,000 grant from the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia.
The DeKalb CSB, providing mental health, developmental disabilities
and addition services, will use the funds to increase the capacity
of its services to people who have low income or who are uninsured.
The Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia commissioned the Health
Policy Center at Georgia State University to conduct a safety net
assessment of 35 healthcare organizations that provide services
to people who are underinsured or uninsured. The purpose of the
survey was to assess gaps in the health care safety net system in
metro Atlanta in order to ultimately improve the health of people
with little or no insurance by improving access to care.
The DeKalb CSB is a public, not-for-profit organization that helps
children, adolescents, adults and seniors who suffer from mental
health, developmental disabilities and addiction challenges to live
more full and productive lives. With over 20 locations, the DeKalb
CSB is available to provide outpatient mental health counseling,
psychiatric emergency, psychosocial rehabilitation and residential
services, substance abuse treatment as well as a full range of developmental
disabilities services. Programs of the DeKalb CSB are accredited
by CARF. To access DeKalb CSB services, call (404) 892-4646.
