he DeKalb CSB Court Services Program DeKalb County State Court Pilot DUI Supervised Treatment Program is designed to serve adult substance abusers that have non-violent charge(s).The purpose of the program is to stop the abuse
Couple
of alcohol and other drugs in the community along with reducing the related criminal activity that often accompanies the drug abuse behavior.
The participants are expected to be engaged in the program for a minimum of twelve (12) months. The program is geared toward "high risk" participants who tend to have poor treatment outcomes in traditional substance abuse settings and who have a disproportionate impact on the community through alcohol and drug -driven crime and recidivism.

The target population are offenders with two DUIs in five years or three or more in a lifetime. Participants are enrolled in a four phase outpatient treatment and counseling program that is a structured, sequential program that involves assessment and treatment planning, education about the impact of addictive substances, counseling for emotional and interpersonal issues, cognitive restructuring, skill building, anger management training, connection to educational and improved employment opportunities, involvement in healthy, community and leisure pursuits.

Participants appear before the judge two times per month and has monitoring by the DeKalb State Court Probation. Program graduation requirements and after-care supervision may be completed in 12 to 24 months.
