Disabilities Residential Services
The DeKalb Developmental
Disabilities Community Residential Services provides a variety of
small, personalized living arrangements as alternatives to institutionalization.
Services are designed to meet the specific needs of each
consumer
and his/her family. Residential services are provided to approximately
80 adult consumers with developmental disability ranging from profound
to moderate. Consumers with physical disabilities, or that demonstrate
adaptive behavior issues are evaluated on a case by case basis for
admission to or continued stay in the residential services program.
Program components
include 24 hour supervised apartments and group homes, family support/host
homes, semi-independent living apartments. Services include supervision,
training, nursing, transportation, behavioral supports and community/recreational
activities. Supervised apartments and group homes are provided 24-hour,
7-day a week awake staff.
