Employment Program.

Crossroads Art Project
The Crossroads Art Project is all about recovery from mental illness.
This program is very special because so many consumers have had the
courage to create a painting or paintings for the first time in their
lives. Most would agree that art helps consumers to recover because
it relieves stress and produces a natural relaxation while they are
creating their artwork.
Crossroads consumers learn about painting, drawing, and working
in pastels. A separate craft class is offered if they choose. We
teach design, how to draw and paint objects, people, and still life
pictures. We now have about 19 paintings and 9 new canvases to be
painted during the next several weeks.
The Art Project has been a huge success for Crossroads. The consumers
who participate in this Project feel better about themselves. They
have developed a feeling of satisfaction, happiness, pride, and
self-fulfillment when they create their paintings. Art and recovery
from mental illness is a magical combination that helps all of us
feel better about ourselves.
