Child
and Adolescent Intensive Family Intervention
The Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) service is provided in collaboration
with a community partner, Transitional Family Services.
This
team service adheres to all applicable DHR standards and guidelines.
The IFI team will utilize an intensive time-limited family preservation
model which seeks to reduce the risk of out-of-home placement of SED
children and adolescents experiencing crises. Interventions will be
delivered in the consumer's home and will consist of both intensive
individual and family therapy designed to de-escalate the current
crisis and provide coping skills for the family in the event of any
future crises. Parenting skills training will also be included as
necessary.
Typical daily
schedules of staff will reflect at least a twice-weekly team meeting
to review the treatment needs of each of the twelve consumers on
the team, and to then plan the appropriate interventions and linkages
accordingly. These meetings will also address discharge criteria,
and review each family's progress toward the resolution of the precipitating
referral questions.
